I am fascinated by people and have a burning desire to see everyone achieve their full potential.”

I’ve had so many roles in my life—being a footballer, nurse, model, Miss Universe 1984, a businesswoman and the founder of my own skincare range, but today I work as a host and presenter, a facilitator, a coach, a public speaker and a product developer.

I’m full of joie de vivre and keen to make the most of what life has to offer. My passion is inspiring, educating and encouraging development in the people around me. Blood, sweat and tears are a source of inspiration and for me they stand for Health, Work and Joy – in other words Life itself!

It’s maintaining a balance between internal and external health that brings us harmony. We need harmony to cope with the stresses and pressures of everyday life. Start from the inside with an understanding that it is from here that you derive the power that is ultimately the source of your radiant energy. Everyone wants to be happy. Happiness isn’t about what’s going on around you, it’s about what’s happening on the inside. Good health creates a wonderful radiance – and that’s true beauty.

I was born and raised in Hällbybrunn, Sweden. After training as a nurse for many years in my hometown, I was persuaded to enter the Miss Sweden competition in 1984. After winning that, I represented Sweden in the Miss Universe contest that same year in Miami, FL. To my great shock and surprise…I won!

My life changed completely overnight. I was thrown into a world I thought only existed in the movies. It was a journey that took me across much of the globe, where I was privileged to experience different cultures, religions and people. When my year was over it was a fairly obvious choice for me to stay in New York, to continue down the path I had started. My Miss Universe experience had given me strength and courage so I continued working in New York as a spokesperson for different products and as a model for photos and TV ads. After 4 years in New York, homesickness got the better of me. In 1988, I decided to move back home to Sweden, got married and settled in Norrtälje. The year after that, I had my first child, Sandra. My second child, Natalie, was born in 1994 and my delight in my family was complete.
